Are there issues, patterns, or emerging forms of online abuse that you feel aren’t getting the attention they deserve? You’re likely not the only one noticing them, and your voice could be the one that brings them forward. The next step is to get the issues on the agenda at an upcoming M3AAWG General Meeting, where the conversations that influence global anti-abuse practices begin.
For more than 20 years, M3AAWG meetings have been known as the place where the right experts come together, under Chatham House Rules, to speak openly, troubleshoot collaboratively, and shape the future of anti-abuse work. This is often where the groundwork is laid for new best practices, shared defense strategies, joint investigations, and policy shifts.
“As online abuse continues to evolve across borders, networks, and platforms, our work must be informed by the widest possible range of perspectives and experiences. M3AAWG meetings bring together members and vetted guests from across the globe, including network operators, platform trust and safety teams, public policy leaders, researchers, and so many more, all with a purpose to share intelligence and collaborate on solutions that no single organization or region could tackle alone,” said M3AAWG Executive Director Amy Cadagin. “By gathering voices from different regulatory environments, cultural contexts, and abuse-response models, we strengthen our collective capacity to identify emerging threats sooner, respond more effectively, and drive meaningful progress in the global fight against online abuse.”
M3AAWG is now accepting proposals for keynotes, panels, presentations, lightning talks, and training sessions for our Upcoming 2026 General Meetings:
- 66th General Meeting taking place February 16-19, 2026, in San Diego, California. (Submission Deadline: December 2, 2025)
- 67th General Meeting set for June 8-11, 2026, in Montreal, Canada. (Submission Deadline: May 11, 2026)
- 68th General Meeting to be held October 26-29, 2026, in Paris, France. (Submission Deadline: August 31, 2026)
“If there’s something you’ve learned, struggled with, would like to discuss with the broader community, or are starting to see emerge, please submit it as a session idea! The only way we know what belongs on the agenda and what should be discussed as an emerging threat is when topics are brought forward through topic submissions by those dealing with it every day,” urged M3AAWG’s Program Committee Vice Chair, Jennifer Nespola Lantz.
Readers can find more information about our General Meetings, including our next meeting in San Diego, on our Upcoming Meetings page. Additional details about submitting a proposal can be found here.
If you are not yet an M3AAWG member and would like to contribute to this work, we encourage you to explore membership. Joining M3AAWG connects you with a global community working collaboratively to reduce online abuse at scale.
